Who it’s for

Built for the people who run the ED

Note-keeping

Cortex keeps it all clear

Your ED’s shared notebook — every note, decision, and follow-up in one place.

Stop losing operational knowledge in texts, inboxes, and hallway conversations. Capture it once and Cortex keeps it organized, searchable, and impossible to forget.

  • Capture notes by text message, email, or in-app — no app-switching
  • Auto-organized by clinician and campus, with photos, web clips & tags
  • AI surfaces patterns and turns notes into trackable action items
  • Follow-up reminders (in-app + SMS) so nothing slips through

How it works

From spreadsheet to command center in three steps

Most departments are up and running the same week — no implementation project required.

1

Set up your department

Add your campuses, clinicians, and shift templates once. Invite your MDs, AMDs, and schedulers — those seats are free.

2

Build & audit the schedule

Drag-and-drop the month with real-time conflict detection, coverage checks, and fairness tracking. Approve, publish, and clinicians are notified automatically.

3

Lead with the FMD Dashboard

Capture operational notes by text into Cortex, track per-clinician metrics, run clinical reviews, and see your whole department at a glance.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Who is Pulse ED built for?

Emergency-department leadership — Facility and Assistant Medical Directors and their schedulers — plus the clinicians who work the shifts. MD, AMD, and Scheduler accounts are always free; you're only billed per clinician seat.

What's live today versus on the roadmap?

Live now: the schedule builder (shift, pod, and plug-in views), approvals & publishing, the FMD Dashboard, Cortex note-keeping with SMS/email capture, credentialing, and performance analytics. On the roadmap: the AI auto-scheduler & optimizer, Pulse Institute (CME), and the Residency suite — always clearly labeled so you know what's live.

How is my data protected?

Pulse is built with HIPAA-level safeguards: encryption of sensitive fields at rest, encrypted backups, role-based access control, optional two-factor authentication for admins, and an audit log of who accessed what. Business Associate Agreements with our infrastructure and AI vendors are part of our compliance program.

Do clinicians get their own access?

Yes. Each clinician gets a portal to view their schedule, request time off and set availability, pick up open shifts and trade shifts, get commute 'leave-by' alerts, and acknowledge performance reviews — most of it designed for their phone.

How does Cortex capture notes by text?

You (or your AMDs) text an operational note to your Cortex number — even a photo — and it's filed by campus, tagged, and searchable, with reminders sent back when you need them. It's the fastest way to capture what happens on the floor without switching apps.

How does the free trial work?

Start with code ALPHA2 for a 2-month free trial — no credit card required. Pricing is $2/clinician per month after that, with a 10-clinician minimum.
